Connecticut Clearinghouse is a statewide resource center offering information and training on substance abuse, mental health disorders, wellness and prevention, treatment and recovery, and related topics. The organization makes resources including posters, pamphlets, fact sheets, books, and DVDs available to all Connecticut families, teachers, students, professionals, communities and children.
Connecticut Clearinghouse was an existing Web Solutions client with a website built in Content Management System v2, and wanted to upgrade its site to the latest CMS platform. In addition, it wanted a mobile-friendly site with a less confusing, more user-friendly navigation, as well as flexible, easy to use admin tools for the staff.
Web Solutions built a totally custom new site, with a fresh design and a fully responsive display. To help organize the vast library of resources on the site, Web Solutions built a custom Topics A-Z module, which offers an alphabetical listing of more than 100 different topics. Under each topic, information and resources are organized into six sections: Fact Sheets, Related Links, Research & Statistics, Screening Tools, Self-Help Groups, and Locate a Treatment Facility.
To better organize the events and training courses on the site, Web Solutions built a custom registration system that enables Connecticut Clearinghouse to associate multiple days and times to a single event, and lets users search for events by agency, category, or keyword, then register for the event and automatically add it to their calendar. Pamphlets and posters, previously available via a PDF order form, can now be ordered online.
